Harley Coleman is a Sydney-based guitarist, composer and improviser.

A musician of many worlds - his undefinable approach draws as easily on jazz as it does songwriting and production. He's proven equally at home on Tessie Overmyer's Tidelines, Sabine Tapia's Shelf / Where Are You Going?, Belvoir Theatre's King Lear, and Luminescence Chamber Singers' premiering Andy Ford's Red Dirt Hymns.

Harley was awarded the Martin Bequest Scholarship for Instrumental Music (Creative Australia) , Albert Scholarship (University of Sydney) and an American Australian Association Arts Grant to facilitate his masters studies at California Institute of the Arts (where he will also attend on scholarship) in 2026. He has also participated in the Australian Art Orchestra’s Creative Music Intensive (2021) and the Siena International Jazz Workshop (2024) during his undergraduate at Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

He has worked with legends of the Australian Jazz scene including Jonathan Zwartz, Cameron Undy, Andrea Keller, Sam Anning, Ben Vanderwal, Steve Barry, and Carl Dewhurst.

A regular presence at The Temperance Society in Summer Hill, he performs Saturday weekly with rotating ensembles of Sydney-based musicians.
